Jones said job seekers will register with organizers upon entry to the event and then be directed toward companies with openings suited for each individual, though attendees will also be free to speak with all of the companies in attendance. They (the companies) gave me job titles, but I know some of them, like production workers, might have one or might have 10 (openings), Jones said of the more than 30 job titles listed as available by the companies. USATSI_9373795_154513410_lowres Retiring would cause Fielder to renounce the money in his contract, which is not what will happen in this case. 1:15pm: Prince Fielder s playing career appears to be over, FOX Sports Ken Rosenthal reports (on Twitter ). The Rangers will hold a press conference tomorrow. Fielder was placed on the DL last month with a herniated disk in his neck, and he had fusion surgery late last month. It was the second season in the last threehe has had season-ending neck surgery, also having had fusion surgery in 2014. There were already questions about whether he would make a full recovery from this second surgery, which could result in restrictions on his flexibility. After playing a solid full season in 2015, Fielder has struggled greatly in 2016, batting just .212/.292/.334 with only eight homers in 370 plate appearances, and he has said that hes suffered symptoms similar to those he battled in 2014, when he hit just .247/.360/.360. Nonetheless, the possibility that Fielder could announce his the end of his careercomes as a bit of a jolt. Hes only 32, and hes under contract through 2020 at $24MM per year. Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports ( Twitter links )that the Rangers will owe Fielder $9MM per season through 2020, with$6MM per season coming from the Tigers (as per the terms of the trade that brought Fielder to Texas) and $9MM coming via insurance payments due to Fielders inability to play. The Brewers made Fielder the seventh overall pick in the draft in 2002, with Milwaukee likely imagining that he could become a first baseman and fearsome slugger in the mold of his father Cecil.
